It really is worth checking out some places where you wouldn’t usually shop for some shoes this summer. Next are doing some brilliant boaters in a wide colour range, Burton not only have these fantastic suede loafers below, but also quite a good range if you can get past some dreadful styles.

Also, if you are going to do canvas this summer, leave the plimsolles at home, and get a pair of these. They are already worn so you don’t need to worry about looking silly in your brand new shoes for the first couple of weeks.

At such an affordable price, these loafers and boaters are a perfect summer shoe. They come in different colours, but the black gets my vote as the other colours stray a bit into grampa territory and too much tan is happening!

ASOS Tailoring Arrives.

Asos have released their second collection of tailoring and as with most of their own brand stuff, it’s actually brilliant at brilliant prices. To pick up a suit for £80 redicuously cheap and the cuts are so much nicer than those at Topman, the only other high street retailer that has any good suiting. The jackets are cut like traditional jackets but a lot slimmer and slightly more cropped, whereas the Topman collection makes you look a bit like you have a womens jacket on. The collection comes in so many styles ranging from three piece to short suits, and you’d be silly not to at least buy a jacket.

Jack Wills SS09

Jack Wills really isn’t a brand I’m a fan of, but I can’t help but like these two looks. The more fitted joggers end up looking brilliant with the garish boating blazer and the slouchyness of the outfit makes it look effortless. The straight legged jeans distressed jeans look good with the more traditionally cut blazers and battered brogues work so well. I wouldn’t buy any of this from J.W. because £298 for a blazer is just too much, but I can guarantee boating blazers will be hitting a lower end of the high street soon.

This shirt by Upper Filth would look brilliant undone with a grey vest underneath and maybe a tight fitting, thin black cardi over the top.

The shops are going into mid season sales, and amongst the vast ammounts of shite, there are some good bargains to be had. Here is my picks.

Jumper by Junk De Luxe £84 £42

This fair isle knit is the only thing I could ever imagine wanting from River Island and I mangaged to snap it up half price the other day. Creates an easy slouchy look and is warm and comfortable. What more do you want?
Hoodie by River Island £34 £17

I actually cannot believ what a steal these are. Yes, I did have to suffer by going on the Burton website. But waht a bargain! Plus no cool people will have a clue where they’re from.
